Contributor guidelines
A practical guide to preparing useful metadata corrections.
Be specific
Reference one record and name the field you want to change. Include the current value and proposed value where possible. Distinguish an original release from a re-release, and a credited role from an uncredited appearance.
Make the information checkable
Link to the source for your correction and explain the relevant detail. Provide your own concise explanation instead of copying a full article or biography.
Keep different records distinct
Films can share a title. People can share a name. Use the Aurora record URL and additional context such as year, episode number, or credited role. Do not assume similarly named records should be merged.
Respect people and their work
Focus on the metadata, keep discussion constructive, and avoid adding private personal information. Artwork contributions should include the source and any permission or attribution details you can provide.
Submission and review
Online contribution review is not enabled yet. These guidelines help you prepare drafts; they do not imply that a draft has been submitted or accepted.
